UPLIFTing as we climb
It is no secret that there is a low representation of African Americans in the legal profession. Some attribute the low representation to the high barriers that the community has to overcome throughout their legal journey and their lack of credible support. Therefore, our goal is to help address those issues by UPLIFTing African Americans in their journeys to and through law school and the legal profession. UPLIFT will meet this goal by creating forums and resources that will help African Americans learn:
-
how to navigate the law school application process;
-
the realities of law school; and
-
about the legal profession.

Information is power, and we believe that by increasing African Americans' access to credible information, the community’s pipeline to the legal profession and their retention within the legal profession will improve.
Our mission is to increase the representation of African American attorneys by providing resources and forums for the community to learn more about the profession from credible sources.
